What’s the Women That Soar Awards?
So, what’s the Women That Soar Awards and why does it matter? The Women That Soar Awards is the signature event of the media company Women That Soar. It recognizes women who have reached the pinnacle of their careers and became leaders in their chosen industries. It celebrates women who have risen up despite the challenges they faced, sometimes brought upon them by the fact that they’re women in a male-dominated world.
Most importantly, the Women That Soar Awards is meant to inspire other women to soar themselves. It’s supposed to show them that if the women who were honored by this award could do it, so can they.
Also honored at the 2017 Women That Soar Awards are:
- Sheila E. – superstar musician, Lifetime Achievement Award
- Cheryl Boone Isaacs – filmmaker and educator, Legend Award
- Angelia Scott-Dunbar – real estate industry maven and author, Entrepreneur Award
- Jan Osborn – philanthropist, Humanitarian Award
- Carmen Perez – civil rights advocate, Global Activist Award
- Stacy Snapp-Killian – celebrity hairstylist and author, Community Outreach Award
- Bonnie Tiburzi – pioneering commercial pilot, Trailblazer Award
The Women That Soar Awards is the brainchild of entrepreneur and former publicist Gina Grant. She is also the founder and CEO of Women That Soar LLC.
Chef Nikky is truly a woman that soars
For all of us who know Chef Nikky, there’s no doubt in our minds that she’s truly a woman that soars. Through her efforts, Asian Mint became a top Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant, recognized by Dallas Eater, D Magazine, Dallas Observer, Zagat, and USA Today.
Chef Nikky is also a strong believer in giving back. Thus, charitable giving has become part of Asian Mint’s DNA. A portion of the restaurant group’s profits are allocated to over a hundred schools and non-profit groups throughout the year. Asian Mint doesn’t take a tax write-off for donations. You can check out the list of Asian Mint’s beneficiaries over the years here.
Moreover, Chef Nikky takes time to participate in community projects with a worthy cause. Her membership at Les Dames d’Escoffier International and the board of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association also puts her in a position to help others, especially women, find success in the culinary industry.
Congratulations, Chef Nikky! We’re so proud of you.
