Hey, Mint Fanatics! If you’re hankering for a good, old-fashioned party – with great food, live music, dancing, and WWII planes – then come join Asian Mint at Equest‘s Boots & Salutes on Friday, July 20, 2018. The shindig will be at the Texas Horse Park on Pemberton Hill Road at 7:30 PM.
And it’s not just any party, too. Proceeds from Boots & Salutes will benefit Hooves 4 Heroes, one of the Veterans’ Program services that Equest runs. So, it’s going to be a night of fun, but for a cause – to uplift our veterans and help them with their transition back to everyday life.
Boots & Salutes benefits Equest’s Hooves 4 Heroes
Equest is an organization that promotes healing through equine-assisted therapies and other activities. The organization’s programs are open to children and adults with diverse needs. These programs involve clients learning how to ride and care for horses, eventually forming bonds with them. Equest hopes that the bonding between person and horse will allow its clients to rebuild their self-confidence, improve their self-awareness, restore their health, and form better relationships with their loved ones. One of the programs offered by Equest is Hooves 4 Horses, which focuses on assisting veterans returning to civic life.
Boots & Salutes is one of Equest’s signature fundraising events. Every year, the event features USO-style entertainment, combined with live music, dancing, and casual gourmet food. This year, Boots & Salutes will have a WWII T-6 Texan flyover, foot-stomping 1940s music by the Jordan Kahn Orchestra, and silent auctions. Of course, the event will include tributes to the selflessness of our veterans spanning decades of US military history.
And since Equest is all about healing through the power of horses, a highlight of Boots & Salutes is a Branch versus Branch fundraising. Equest has picked six horses to represent each branch of the US military – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and First Responders. Donors get to pick a branch, donate what they can, and challenge their friends to raise at least $5,000 for their horse. The donors’ names will be mounted on the horse’s stall for the whole year. The funds raised at the Branch versus Branch mini-event will go to the upkeep of the horses at the Texas Horse Park.
Let’s honor our veterans with a night of live music, great food, and lots of fun!
Asian Mint is one of the Dallas restaurants recruited to sponsor Boots & Salutes. We’ll have our own booth at the party, and from there we’ll serve some of our fresh and healthy signature bites that y’all have come to love.
Tickets to the shindig costs $75 each. If you’re bringing friends and family, you can book a table seating good for eight people for $600. And through a generous grant from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, all proceeds from Boots & Salutes will be matched 1:1. You can get your tickets here.
So, let’s all show up at the party, honor the sacrifice of our veterans, and, at the same time, have loads of fun. See you there!
