Asian Mint Joins ‘Dallas for Houston’ #DTX4HTX Flood Relief Event

Asian Mint Joins ‘Dallas for Houston’ #DTX4HTX Flood Relief Event

Houston is the nation’s fourth largest city and home to 25% of the population of Texas. Tens of thousands of people have lost everything because of Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding. Houston has been one of the hardest-hit cities across the region. Some Houston areas received more rain in one hour than they typically get during the entire month of August. Houston, you are not alone! We want everyone to know that Dallas is here to help. Asian Mint is here to help. We would like to call all our Dallas friends and family to join our efforts. Join us and help us spread the word about the Dallas for Houston Event (DTX 4 HTX). On Wednesday, September 6, more than 100 Dallas-area bars, restaurants, clubs, and venues are coming together for a citywide, one-day fundraiser. Every participating business will donate 20% of their gross income for the day to the Trusted World Organization and the nonprofit CORE Organization. If you want to help, all you have to do is eat at your favorite Asian Mint restaurant location! For a full list of participating establishments visit the DTX 4 HTX event page.

Dallas for houston #DTX4HTX – Where will the donations go?

Participating Dallas restaurants have agreed to donate 20% of their earnings from the Dallas for Houston Event to a single pool of funds which will go to the Trusted World Charity Organization and CORE Gives nonprofit Organization.

Trusted World

Trusted World is a Dallas-based charitable organization that works alongside other organizations and shelters to help coordinate donation distributions and relief efforts during disasters such as Harvey. Trusted World is already working hand-in-hand with other Dallas shelters and will continue to work with Houston-area shelters in the months to come. They make sure that these donations go to people and other organizations who are providing recovery services. Trusted World will also provide resources to victims well after the flood waters recede as they understand it can take up to three years to recover from flooding. You can also sign up to help sort through all the collected donations.

Core Gives

CORE Gives is another organization that has partnered with the DTX 4 HTX event. This organization provides assistance to Children of Restaurant Employees. Harvey has left many restaurant workers with children homeless and jobless. This organization focuses on helping children especially during times of extreme emotional and financial strain brought on by family death, injury or diagnosed medical condition, loss of home, or other sudden or extreme circumstances. CORE is committed to helping these children feel valued, special, and safe during these times of hardship. Even though they are based out of Georgia, they have partnered and helped in over 30 states. You can see more about they do through their Core Gives Facebook page.

GREATER DALLAS RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION

The DTX4HTX event is also working with Central Track News and the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association to help spread the word and increase momentum for this event. If you know of any other businesses that may want to participate in The Dallas for Houston event, please send them to the event Business Participation and Promotion Page. The more people that get involved, the more people we can help. Houston, we got your back!
